Father Christmas Visits:

Bookings are now being taken to visit Father Christmas in our Forester’s cottage. Father Christmas will be in residence from Saturday 17th December to Friday 23rd December between 10.30 am and 3pm. Call the Centre during opening hours (Tuesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm) to make your booking. Please do not leave messages as these may not be picked up in time. 


A visit to meet Father Christmas is £15 per child and includes a named gift. Up to two Adults accompanying children to meet Father Christmas will be admitted FREE and given a voucher by the Christmas Elf to be exchanged for a mince pie in our coffee shop.
Payment will be taken on the day of your booking so please make sure you arrive in plenty of time for your slot as it may be busy on Reception.

 

Christmas Bazaar: 

Saturday 10th December 11:00-16:00:

Join us for a day of festive family fun for our Christmas Bazaar! There will be an indoor Christmas market, 11:00-15:00, with stalls of handmade gifts, sweet treats, local produce and Christmas essentials. In the craft hut our elves will be holding an elf workshop, making special Christmas gifts. We will also have Christmas Crafts in the Mill shed. Keep an eye out for our scavenger hunt and help Father Christmas round up all the naughty elves in time for Christmas. Entry to the Bazaar is £5 for adults and kids are free! The ticket price entitles you to all our festive activities and entry to The Museum and Gruffalo trail!   

 

Elf Workshops

Come along to our special Christmas Elf workshops in the craft hut and make something special for Christmas.

Saturday 3rd: Super Elf Ken BaublesMerryMan will be using DHC harvested wood slices to make spinning tops and hanging tree decorations decorated using pyrography. 

Sunday 4th: Work with local artist Elf, Amanda JollyFigWig to create a festive box, perfect for placing that special Christmas gift in.

Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th: Heritage Elves Wendy SugarPlum & Howard MerryPlum will be taking over the craft hut to show you how to create traditional festive items using sheep fleece. You will be able to have a go at weaving and felting and use a vintage sewing machine to make miniature Christmas stockings.
