NEW CONFERENCE FACILITIES
New Conference Facilities add to the new look Dean Heritage
Centre.
The newly refurbished Dean Heritage Centre has added another string to its bow in
the form of a brand new conference venue.
The newly converted room, previously a blacksmith’s workshop, is fully equipped
and has space for 18 delegates in boardroom style or 25 in theatre style. In addition,
it has beautiful views of the millpond and direct access to the veranda.
Situated next door to the onsite café, great food can be ordered with any package.
Among the first to sample the new space were Gloucestershire Archives department
and the centre’s own trustees AGM including two brand new members.
SOMETHING TO BRAGG ABOUT!
Lord Bragg shows his support for Dennis Potter Archive.
On Saturday 15th October, Lord Melvyn Bragg visited the Dean Heritage Centre (DHC) to show his support of the planned Dennis Potter archive and exhibition which will open at the heritage site in 2012.
Following an appearance at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, Lord Bragg enjoyed a packed visit at the centre and met with all the partners involved in the project including Voices in the Forest1, the University of Gloucestershire, the Rural Media Company and Lakers School, before taking a tour of the site and viewing a small selection of the archive.
APPLEFEST AT DEAN HERITAGE CENTRE
It is officially autumn and the Dean Heritage Centre is embracing the change of
season with a celebration of the rich variety of apples in the area.
Applefest, which sees the return of the annual fruit festival at the centre, will take place on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd October 2011.
On Saturday the 22nd, experts from the Gloucestershire Orchard Group will be displaying a variety of Gloucestershire apples, letting people taste them and offering
advice about planting.
