The Dean Heritage Centre Earthworks
The centre is home to two ancient Earthworks sites including Littledean Camp and Mill Grove Wood and they were donated to the Dean Heritage Museum Trust by Dr. C. E. Hart, O.B.E. in 1987.
Littledean Camp is an ancient earthwork site located on high ground that overlooks the Severn Valley. It is thought to be the site of the 'Old Castle of Dene' from which the ancient Forest takes its name.
Mill Grove Wood
The nearby Mill Grove Wood comprises of eight acres of ancient chestnut coppice.
Both of these fragile ancient earthwork sites are being managed for conservation with limited public access.
