Half term activities
Monday 23rd October- Friday 20th October
This half term we will be hosting a week full of fun-filled family activities exploring local myths and legends. Plus on Monday 23rd October the Dean Heritage Centre is proud to be hosting a rock and fossil roadshow hosted by the Gloucestershire Geology Trust.
A Gallery trail with activities will guide you through some local stories that will amaze and terrify you. Aethelstan the Anglo Saxon and Cygvranos from the Iron Age will also be visiting to share stories from their era and to give you the chance to do a little warrior training too.
Every good myth needs a warrior!
Amanda Cox and Jayme-Lee Cooper, our resident artists will be here creating art inspired by local myths and legends with visitors of all ages so come and join them to get creative. In the craft hut there will be lots of crafting and recycled materials for you to use to create your own mythical beast to take home and make your own story. There will be a prize for the best beast made in our craft hut, to enter the compettion post a picture of your beast on the Dean Heritage Centre Facebook page.
Rock and Fossil Roadshow; Monday 23rd October
Travel back in time, discovering what makes the local geology special. Get involved in the many crafts and activities: make your own prehistoric creature, dig for fossils and gems, bring your own specimens for identification and more! Hosted by Gloucestershire Geology Trust
Myths and Legends Activity Schedule
