The museum actively collects artefacts relevant to the natural and manmade heritage of the Forest of Dean from prehistory to the present day.

If you have an artefact that you would be willing to donate to the museum collection please contact Collections Manager Alex Smith.

Please note that due to limited storage space we are unable to accept:

Artefacts that fall outside the collecting area (The Forest of Dean is defined as the area within the present District Council boundaries and within the boundary of the medieval forest at its greatest extent)

Artefacts in poor condition that require extensive conservation treatment

Duplicate artefacts

Artefacts offered on permanent loan
